Besides its educational function, the planetarium is occasionally used as a place for social and cultural events. Among the manifold possibilities to have an entertaining activity are:

• wedding ceremonies under the romance of the starry sky;

• company meetings and gatherings;
• exhibitions and fairs;
• theater performances, readings;
• music presentations, laser shows.
  

Meanwhile the planetaria became also tourist attractions. Different from museums or cinemas, they offer fictive journeys into outer worlds. The visitor finds that each planetarium is unique - not only by its outside architecture, but also by the way of running the content.
