Five full time and permanent positions are available at the revitalised Carter Observatory including a digital Planetarium.

• Planetarium Manager: You provide the direction, training and support for all staff working in the dome. You will liaise with the planetarium provider to address any minor technical issues, and use the producer suite to build a portfolio of flexible show content for the diverse audiences. You have a relevant education and planetarium experience with a sound knowledge of astronomy.
• Education and Public Programmes Manager: You are responsible for the development of education programmes, and establishment of the facility for space education using networks to connect with schools and other educational organisations, assist in raising the awareness of the Observatory's profile. You are qualified as a primary or intermediate teacher with a minimum of three years teaching science.
• Marketing and Communications Manager: You take the ownership of everything about public outreach. Being a strategic thinker, you achieve challenging targets, and develop communication and marketing methods to deliver visitors to the door. You articulate, exude energy, and are an open as well as inclusive team player.
• Office Co-ordinator: Your role is to ensure the office runs smoothly by providing timely, accurate management and administration support; provide finance and booking support, deal with enquiries from customers. You have experience in maintaining databases, office systems and advanced Microsoft skills.
• Front House Manager: You ensure a high standard of customer service, supervise events and keep the revenue targets in mind. You are target focused, with experience leading a small team. Essentially, you understand the visitor’s perspective, and are a bright and friendly person with a commercial flair.
