The new appointee will be responsible for assisting other members of the education team and shop and front desk staff in delivering the educational services for schools and the wider public. The main duties comprise presenting live shows in the Digital Theatre; writing articles for "Astronotes" and the plantarium website; developing astronomy club networks; outreach visits at locations throughout Ireland with the portable planetarium; helping to run telescope nights and other outdoor activities; and interacting with visitors. Essential criteria for the post are: at least 5 General Certificate of Secondary Education (GCSEs), including English language, a full driving licence, practical experience with Windows applications, and acceptance of working at unsocial hours. Desirable skills are, among others, a scientific degree or equivalent education, experience of marketing or advertising, and previous work in a comparable facility. -- For further details visit the website below.
