The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the daily operation of the Planetarium facility equipped with a Sky-Skan Definiti projector system. Duties will include routine scheduling of the facility, providing public shows as needed, routine maintenance of software and hardware, instruction of potential users in system operation, development of new Alaska-specific programs, and fund-raising. This is primarily an administrative position (80%), with 20% departmental duties. Some teaching may be required (two courses per year maximum). Required education is a Ph.D. in Astronomy or Physics. Also expected is computational experience in the area of planetarium program software, and teaching or public outreach experience, minimum five years relevant experience for appointment at Associate Professor level. Preferred is experience in working across disciplines, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to advocate for the university. -- For further details visit the website below.
