The planetarium of the Modesto Junior College will be built inside the Science Community Center through spring 2011. The successful candidate may be called upon to provide input on design or technical details related to the planetarium and/or observatory and to select appropriate presentations for purchase. Prior to that, the job duties will be among others: Teach any of the college's astronomy courses; assist the Great Valley Museum staff with exhibits and programs related to astronomy; maintain office hours of an appropriate amount and time to provide access for students; perform regular updates of course materials and procedures; participate in college public relations work such as night sky viewing. Minimum qualifications are master's in physics, astronomy, or astrophysics or various other equivalents. -- For details visit the website below.
