The planetarium technician is expected to coordinate operational aspects of the Clever Planetarium including operating slide, sound equipment and other special multi-media effects; to conduct planetarium shows and tape narrators; and to perform a variety of tasks relative to assigned area of responsibility. Essential responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to: Operate a variety of audio-visual and multi-media equipment; write, edit and modify scripts and content for planetarium shows and presentations; provide technical and creative assistance to instructors in the use of special planetarium equipment; research new technology and products used in planetarium shows. Required: Basic principles, practices and terminology of astronomy.
