Geministar Planetarium ProjectorThe Geministar combines the opto-mechanical elements of the Infinium with the digital projection of Digistar-II. The number of projected stars amounts 10,000 to 15,000. A metal halide lamp serves as a light source and generates brilliant star dots. The projector uses a "hybrid fibre" optical system, but its distinction to normal fibres is not specified in the data information. Minolta claims that the observational sight can be changed to a point up to 900 light years away from Earth, and calculate the astronomical conditions in a time interval of one million years. Concerning the precision of such actions or proper motions of the stars, no information is given. This model has passed three technical generations marked as "II" and "III". The stars of the Geministar first shone at the Discovery Park in Yaizu, Japan, in 1997.
