Zeiss SpacemasterThe Spacemaster was built by the East German Company as a device for medium-sized planetaria from 1967 to 1992. It was an ongoing development of the large Universal Planetariums Projectors (UPP) which itselves were based on the Mark-II. Most of the copies were delivered to East European countries, while in West Germany this sector was fully neglected. The Spacemaster projects 7000 stars and its total power is 10 kW. The length of the dumbbell measures 2 meters. From 1977, a microchip was integrated into this model giving it the label "DP" for "double-precision". Thus, it is able to calculate the orbits of the planets much exacter than before. Moreover, it is able to run tape shows.
