Zeiss CosmoramaThe Cosmorama was developed by the East German department in Jena for large domes in the early 1980ies. It has been one of the first computer controlled intruments and provided a high efficiency in its time. As such it is able to record and save a show for multiple replays. It gives a brilliant reproduction of the starry sky with more than 9000 stars. The apparatus can be lifted in a downward tray utilising a hydraulic unit. The first instrument was installed in the Space and Science Center in Edmonton, Canada, in 1984.
