Universarium-VIIWhen Germany reunited, the two Zeiss Companies in Jena and Oberkochen did so. They began to construct the first joint projector. The outcome was the Universarium-VII. It emerged from attempts in Jena to renounce the dumbbell form and technical improvements in Oberkochen like fibre optics. The Northern and Southern star spheres are combined to a single ball based on the model of Minolta's Infinium. The planetary projectors find their place on a seperate platform. This makes a direct access from the computer controlled desk much easier and the positioning faster. A special feature is a small projector for the Supernova 1987A that appeared in the Magellanic Cloud. In the later model, this has been withdrawn. Only two copies of the Universarium-VII were sold: One was delivered to the Science Centre in Helsinki in 1989 before the political reunification was carried out, and a second received the Forum der Technik in Munich in 1993.
