Mark-III PDF Print

Zeiss Mark-IIIAfter 1945, the Zeiss Company was split in two: Jena and Oberkochen. The department in Oberkochen received a large part of the construction plans for the Mark-II and modernised it from scratch but without technical innovations. It was later classified as Mark-III, but never produced as an own type. For example, the former projector in Hamburg was dismantled and completely overhauled, before it went to Johannesburg, South Africa. Its core still uses spares the from the 1930ies, while other parts were refurbished with newer components. Some consider this instrument as the oldest operating planetarium apparatus in the World.
